Attending a big fancy dinner at which there are multiple glasses, plates, forks, etc. can be nerve-wracking for some who are afraid they”ll use the wrong utensil or take someone else’s glass. Years ago someone gave me a trick for identifying which glass and bread plate were mine. Form an “ok” sign with each hand, placing your pinky fingers (extended, not curled) on your lap with the “o” of your index finger and thumb facing up. You will notice that your left hand has formed a “b” and your right hand has formed a “d.” Thinking of the “b” as “bread” and the “d” as “drink,” the bread is on your left and your drink is on the right. Simple, right? I love that one.
